In quel tempo, Gesù disse ai suoi discepoli: «Non sia turbato il vostro cuore. Abbiate fede in Dio e abbiate fede anche in me. Nella casa del Padre mio vi sono molte dimore. Se no, vi avrei mai detto: “Vado a prepararvi un posto”? Quando sarò andato e vi avrò preparato un posto, verrò di nuovo e vi prenderò con me, perché dove sono io siate anche voi. E del luogo dove io vado, conoscete la via».
Gli disse Tommaso: «Signore, non sappiamo dove vai; come possiamo conoscere la via?». Gli disse Gesù: «Io sono la via, la verità e la vita. Nessuno viene al Padre se non per mezzo di me. Se avete conosciuto me, conoscerete anche il Padre mio: fin da ora lo conoscete e lo avete veduto».
Gli disse Filippo: «Signore, mostraci il Padre e ci basta». Gli rispose Gesù: «Da tanto tempo sono con voi e tu non mi hai conosciuto, Filippo? Chi ha visto me, ha visto il Padre. Come puoi tu dire: “Mostraci il Padre”? Non credi che io sono nel Padre e il Padre è in me? Le parole che io vi dico, non le dico da me stesso; ma il Padre, che rimane in me, compie le sue opere.
Credete a me: io sono nel Padre e il Padre è in me. Se non altro, credetelo per le opere stesse.
In verità, in verità io vi dico: chi crede in me, anch’egli compirà le opere che io compio e ne compirà di più grandi di queste, perché io vado al Padre».
Commento
Veniamo da Dio e andiamo a Dio: il nostro è un cammino di ritorno, dove partenza e arriva coincidono = Dio. Questo cammino che facciamo lo percorriamo alla luce della fede in Cristo.. E’ pur vero che ogni idea, anche la più bella che sboccia nella mente è sempre ottima, ma quando entra nell’uomo ne assume i limiti, i difetti, viene ridimensionata, o abbellita o ridotta.
Credere non è appoggiarsi quà e là, o mettere nella biblioteca dello spirito questa o quella verità intuita o condivisa, ma è porsi in cammino Dio, rinnovando il proprio andare con una continua conversione, sudando a volte per proiettarci con lo sguardo dello spirito oltre gli avvenimenti umani o le prove che sembrano bloccarci. Camminare con Dio, senza avere paura, camminare con Dio ,immergendoci sempre più nella sua conoscenza, superando le tribolazioni della vita con una immensa fiducia in Chi ha vinto il mondo. (Gv.16,33).
Credere è rimanere nel cammino con Dio, nonostante tutto, mai distogliere lo sguardo dalla direzione giusta.
Credere è anche proiettarci oltre il tempo, la dove Cristo è andato a prepararci un posto, perché al nostro arrivo possiamo sederci accanto a lui, accanto a Dio, e goderci l’eternità.
E mentre camminiamo, s’apre il cammino, e mentre conosciamo sempre più Cristo, Dio ci mostra il suo volto, e quando apriamo il cuore ai fratelli, è Dio ad entrare per primo nel nostro cuore e a farci sentire carichi di felicità.
Credere è seguire Cristo, sempre, ovunque , comunque.” Io sono la via, la verità, la vita”.!(Gv.14,6). Cristo è il percorso da fare , attimo per attimo, nel quotidiano, seguendo le sue orme, per arrivare alla conoscenza del Padre; Cristo è la vita da vivere, misurandoci continuamente con il suo stile e il suo modo di agire; Cristo è la certezza, l’unica, al di fuori della quale, troviamo solo menzogna, falsità, le bugie umane, il compromesso.
, seguendo Cristo noi arriveremo al Padre, vedremo il volto del Padre e,con grande gioia, troveremo la sorpresa che il nostro Dio non è un Dio che si lascia cercare, ma se noi lo cerchiamo è perchè Lui già ci sta cercando. Ben definisce tale concetto S.Agostino:” Non lo cercheresti, se egli non ti avesse già cercato per primo. È pù lo trovi, e più il desiderio di cercarlo si fa cocente. Più lo trovi e più lo cerchi.”
Ma è pur vero che se vogliamo arrivare a vedere Dio, dobbiamo chiedere a Cristo i suoi occhi in prestito, di fissarci nei suoi occhi, dove scopriremo l’immagine di Dio, nostro Padre.

Commentary on the Gospel of Sunday After Easter V (May 22) - (John 14.1 to 12)
At that time, Jesus told his disciples: "Do not be troubled in your heart. Have faith in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions. If not, would I have said, "I go to prepare a place"? When I go and prepare a place for you I will, I will come back and take you with me where I am because you are too. And the place where I go, you know the way. "
Thomas said: "Lord, we do not know where to go, how can we know the way? ". Jesus said, "I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you know me, know my Father also: henceforth you know him and have seen him. "
Philip said: "Lord, show us the Father and us all. " Jesus replied: "I have often been with you and you do not know me, Philip? Whoever has seen me has seen the Father. Comment
We come from God and we go to God, ours is a journey of return, where departure and arrival coincides = God This way we do is walk in the light of faith in Christ .. It 'true that every idea, even the most beautiful blossoms in the mind is always good, but when it goes into a man takes the limits, defects, resize, or embellished or reduced.
Believing is not leaning here and there, or put in the library of the spirit this or that truth intuitively, or shared, but on the way is to ask God, renewing its go with a constant conversion, sweating at times to project with the eye of the spirit over the human events or evidence that appears to hang. To believe is to remain in his journey with God, despite everything, never taking his eyes off the right direction.
Believing is also project over time, where Christ has gone to prepare a place, because when we arrived, we can sit next to him, next to God, and enjoy eternity.
